Electromagnetic actuators and solenoids are used in many applications and industries to convert electrical to mechanical energy. Simulating the electromagnetic performance of these devices with magnetic finite element analysis (FEA) enables you to optimize the output force and electrical power, and incorporate the coil design in static or transient models. Leveraging these magnetic FEA models enables you to predict the closing time in a system-level model which includes the controls, power electronics and mechanical load.
