Many structures in the Heavy Equipment, Machinery, or Shipbuilding sectors share some of the same design and engineering characteristics. Large cranes, ship hulls, or large shipyard ramps are typically massive assemblies that often include 1000’s of parts welded together that present unique challenges for finite element modeling, validation, and simulation.
