The scope of the conference includes technology advances in design, analysis, manufacturing and measurements for electrical machines and drives. Topics covered include rotating electrical machines; special machines, sensors, and actuators; electrical drives; condition monitoring, fault detection, noise and vibration; embedded applications. IEMDC 2017 will include oral and poster special (S) and general (G) technical sessions for papers describing original and previously unpublished work, plenary sessions with invited speakers, tutorials, and exhibits.

History and Venue of the 2017 Anniversary Edition

The IEEE International Electric Machines and Drives Conference—IEMDC has been established as a major event and held its inaugural edition in Milwaukee, WI, in 1997. Bi-annual follow up editions have been organized in Seattle, WA in 1999, Cambridge, MA in 2001, Madison, WI in 2003, San Antonio, TX in 2005, Antalya, Turkey in 2007, Miami, Fl in 2009, Niagara Falls, Ont., Canada in 2011, Chicago, Il in 2013, and Coeur D’Alene, ID in 2015.

The scope of the conference includes technology advances in design, analysis, manufacturing and measurements for electrical machines and drives. Topics covered include rotating electrical machines; special machines, sensors, and actuators; electrical drives; condition monitoring, fault detection, noise and vibration; embedded applications.

Important Dates

  • March 1, 2017 – Notification of the review results
  • March 31, 2017 – Final submission of the accepted papers.

Contributions in the form of paper digests and proposals for special sessions are invited from industry and academia. Accepted and presented papers will be published in the Conference Proceedings, will be indexed and made available in the IEEExplore on-line database.
